Director, producer and editing expert. The youngest female film entrepreneur in Italy.
Born in Santa Maria di Leuca and registered in Tricase, Donatella Baglivo discovers her vocation at a very young age: at only 13 she enters the RAI studios and falls in love with the Moviola. Her career moves fast: at 18 she signs her first film editing and at 19 she founds Ciak Studio, becoming the youngest female film entrepreneur in Italy.
In the 1980s, the encounter that marks her artistic life takes place. Donatella Baglivo establishes a deep collaborative relationship with the giant of Russian cinema, who becomes her master and spiritual guide.
She is the only director in the world to have made three documentary films about the life and work of Tarkovsky, a priceless legacy preserved today in her historical archive.
